News Update:

BARA's Dr. Subhransu Ray presented the major clinical trial results for ocriplasmin at the recent American Academy of Ophthalmology meeting. Ocriplasmin (Jetrea) is a medicine delivered by intravitreal injection for treatment of vitreomacular adhesion.

New FDA approvals

Lucentis (ranibizumab) was recently FDA approved for treatment of diabetic macular edema. Eylea (aflibercept) was approved in early 2012 for treatment of wet age-related macular degeneration, and more recently was FDA approved for treatment of macular edema associated with central retinal vein occlusion.

These new medications may provide a benefit in some patients. Ask your BARA doctor about the choice of medications available if you are being treated for one of these conditions.
